Anti-Inflammatory & Pain Relief IV Therapy

Advanced IV Pain Relief & Inflammation Management

Chronic inflammation and acute pain share a common mechanism: the overproduction of prostaglandins and the sensitisation of pain receptors in the central nervous system. Standard oral NSAIDs address one pathway; the Anti-Inflammatory & Pain Relief IV at The DRIPBaR Bedford targets both simultaneously. Toradol and low-dose Ketamine are delivered intravenously by licensed nurses, reaching full bioavailability immediately without the absorption variables of oral medication.

HOW IT WORKS

Two clinical pathways, one protocol

Oral pain relievers are limited by absorption rate, first-pass metabolism, and GI tolerance. IV delivery bypasses all three. At therapeutic concentrations, the compounds in this protocol act on inflammation and central pain sensitisation at the same time rather than sequentially.

The anti-inflammatory pathway (Toradol): Ketorolac (Toradol) is a prescription-strength NSAID that inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, blocking prostaglandin synthesis at the tissue level. This reduces localised swelling, joint inflammation, and systemic inflammatory markers without opioid receptor involvement, meaning there is no dependency risk and no sedation that impairs function.

The neurological reset (low-dose Ketamine): For patients with chronic or nerve-related pain, standard anti-inflammatories address only part of the picture. Persistent pain rewires central pain processing, a phenomenon called central sensitisation, causing the nervous system to amplify pain signals disproportionately. Low-dose Ketamine acts as an NMDA receptor antagonist, interrupting this amplified signalling and reducing overall pain sensitivity. Research published in Pain Medicine (Niesters et al., 2014) supports sub-anaesthetic Ketamine as a clinically meaningful intervention for centrally sensitised pain states.

INGREDIENTS TABLE

Therapeutic agent

Clinical role

Toradol (Ketorolac)

Prescription NSAID that inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, reducing prostaglandin-driven inflammation and acute pain without opioids

Ketamine (low dose)

NMDA receptor antagonist that interrupts central pain sensitisation pathways for chronic and nerve-related pain

Magnesium Sulfate

Muscle relaxant that eases spasms and reduces vascular tension; supports neuromuscular function

B-Complex Vitamins

Supports peripheral nerve health and cellular repair; helps address fatigue associated with chronic pain states

Normal Saline

Restores hydration, stabilises the cellular environment, and supports renal clearance of inflammatory byproducts

CONDITIONS THIS PROTOCOL ADDRESSES

Who this session is designed for

Chronic nerve pain and fibromyalgia. Patients with persistent, widespread pain often have a significant central sensitisation component that standard anti-inflammatories do not reach. The low-dose Ketamine element is specifically relevant here.

Severe migraines and headaches when standard treatments have failed. The combination of Toradol and Magnesium targets both the neurogenic inflammation and the vascular tension component of migraine pain.

Post-surgical and post-injury recovery. The IV anti-inflammatory protocol helps reduce systemic inflammation in the early recovery window, when oral medication compliance is difficult or GI tolerance is low.

Joint and muscle pain from arthritis flares or acute musculoskeletal injuries. Toradol's COX inhibition is particularly effective for the prostaglandin-mediated inflammation present in both acute injury and inflammatory arthritis.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your session at The DRIPBaR Bedford

Each session begins with a health intake and contraindication screening conducted by our licensed nursing staff. This step is not a formality. Toradol and Ketamine each carry specific contraindications that the nursing team reviews before any compounds are prepared.

The infusion itself runs for approximately 45 to 60 minutes depending on the personalised protocol. Our nursing staff monitors the session continuously. Many patients notice a measurable reduction in pain intensity before the infusion is complete.

For standard pain relief sessions without Ketamine, most patients are able to drive themselves home. Sessions that include Ketamine require a pre-arranged ride home, as the compound can cause temporary lightheadedness. This is a firm clinical requirement, not a precaution we leave to patient discretion.

SAFETY AND CLINICAL STANDARDS

What you should know before booking

Every infusion at The DRIPBaR Bedford is administered by licensed registered nurses. All compounds are sourced from licensed sterile compounding pharmacies and prepared to clinical standards.

Toradol is not administered to patients with a history of active GI bleeding, severe renal impairment, NSAID or aspirin allergy, bleeding disorders, or third-trimester pregnancy. The five-day FDA dosing limit for ketorolac applies; this protocol is designed for acute and periodic use, not continuous administration.

Low-dose Ketamine is not appropriate for patients with a history of psychosis, uncontrolled hypertension, or active substance use disorders. These are reviewed during the pre-session intake.

This is a clinical infusion protocol. It is not a substitute for diagnosis or ongoing management by a physician or specialist.

Pain Relief IV service is intended for supportive and symptomatic relief. It is not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment by a qualified physician, rheumatologist, neurologist, or pain specialist. Patients with chronic pain conditions should inform their primary care provider before beginning IV therapy. Individual results vary.

Pain Relief & Ketamine IV Options

Our Pain Relief and Ketamine IV programs combine clinical-grade analgesics, neuro-protective nutrients, and rapid hydration to target chronic pain and inflammation at its source—providing a specialized strategy to help you manage physical discomfort and neurological sensitivity safely and comfortably.

The Acute Pain Relief Drip

Designed to provide rapid anti-inflammatory support and muscle relaxation for acute physical injuries.

The Ketamine Wellness Push

A specialized clinical infusion to help reset pain receptors and manage treatment-resistant chronic pain.

How Does Ketamine Work For Chronic Pain?

Ketamine acts as an NMDA receptor antagonist, which helps "reboot" the pain signaling pathways in the brain. This can provide significant relief for individuals who have developed a high sensitivity to pain or have not responded to traditional treatments.

Will A Recovery IV Drip Help With Muscle Soreness?

Yes, our muscle recovery iv drip is specifically designed to flush out lactic acid and deliver the hydration and amino acids necessary for tissue repair. Most athletes feel a significant reduction in DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) within hours of treatment.

Is The Ketamine Infusion Supervised By Medical Staff?

Yes. Every Ketamine session at The DRIPBaR Bedford is administered and continuously monitored by licensed nurses. Dosage is determined during the pre-session health assessment. No session involving Ketamine proceeds without a completed contraindication screening.

How Long Do The Pain Relief Effects Last?

While immediate relief is often felt during the session, the long-term benefits depend on the underlying condition. Many clients experience improved comfort for several days to weeks, with cumulative benefits seen after a series of regular treatments.

Can I Drive Home After A Ketamine IV Drip?

For standard pain relief drips, you are typically fine to drive. However, for sessions involving Ketamine, we require that you have a pre-arranged ride home, as the treatment can cause temporary lightheadedness or relaxation that makes driving unsafe.
